The people and the stories behind Focus Solutions.  Here’s our Sales Support Executive Assistant, Laura.

How long have you worked for Focus?

2 years this August

What did you do before Focus?

Customer Service for a National Greetings Card distributor

What made you follow this particular career path?

I’ve always had customer orientated roles whether face to face or over the phone so this just seemed like the next step up.

What does your day-to-day job entail?

Diary managements, booking meetings, setting up cashflow accounts and supporting Pete and Rob in the Sales Team with general administration tasks.

Favourite thing about working for Focus?

General banter and laughter with colleagues around me

Outside of work, how do you relax and like to spend your free time?

I have a 6 year old daughter, so relax doesn’t really play a part in everyday life. I’m also pretty much always on the go with driving to dance lessons, gym lessons, volunteering as a Beaver Scout Leader, a Rehoming Manager for an animal rescue shelter, helping at the Talisman Theatre in Kenilworth and looking after 5 hamsters and 2 guinea pigs! If I do get any down time, I like to just sit on the sofa with music on and hopefully enjoy the quietness or go out for the day with my husband and daughter to spend quality family time together.

Interesting fact about you?

After spending 13 years as an artistic roller skater and having to give up due to injury, I took my judges exams and became the youngest GB judge at the time.

You’re stranded on a desert island; what three things would you want with you?

A solar charger, a steel flint tool and my family
