Simple Products and Simplified Advice

The debate between companies, regulators and trade associations over what types of products would best suit the so called mass market consumers following the implementation of RDR has been ongoing. Westminster and City's industry forum on Simple Products and Simplified Advice has been organised to take place during the consultation period for HM Treasury's Consultation on Simple Products. The forum will debate the HM Treasury Consultation Paper on Simple Products and developments in the Simplified Advice Process and the Way Forward.

The forum includes the following sessions;

  • HM Treasury's Head of Financial Capability, Carl Pheasey on what type of products consumers want, what level of risk is acceptable and how they should be sold.
  • British Bankers Association's Director of Retail, Peter Tyler will discuss the market, products and regulatory issues for simple products.
  • Sessions exploring  Distributor and Provider Solutions to Simple Products and Simplified Advice will also be held by ABI, Standard Life, HSBC, Tenet and Lloyds amongst others.
