Many moons ago when I was an adviser, the regulated status of the company I worked for never seemed to matter as much as the relationship I had with the customer, and I hoped it was the same for them.

‘Not sure’ is the very brief answer. A slight longer answer might be ‘not sure there is such a thing’. On balance I’d probably opt for the second slightly longer version.

The FSA recently published their long awaited guidance paper on simplified advice and whilst still termed a ‘guidance’ paper this has really positioned their view on simplified advice going forward given the proximity of RDR.

Early in August 2011 the FSA released their latest publication in respect of the platform (and thereby Wrap) market. This particular paper has long been anticipated and in many ways was the document that firms were looking to for guidance on the final shape of platforms in a post RDR world.
